"Nitrogen for Climate and Green Recovery" virtual event (27-29 April 2021)
This event is jointly hosted by the British High Commission in Colombo and the Government of Sri Lanka. It is supported by the UKRI GCRF South Asian Nitrogen Hub of the Global Challenges Research Fund, the GEF/UNEP International Nitrogen Management System (INMS) and the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP).

- 27 April - Day 1: High level meeting: Speeches from H.E. the President of Sri Lanka and Ministers from across South Asia. Launch of #Nitrogen4NetZero initiative. Panel discussion between representatives of UN conventions.
- 28 April - Day 2: Multi-actor presentations: Outlining evidence on nitrogen and climate, and the opportunities for action. Speakers include science, NGO and business perspective.
- 29 April - Day 3: Policy maker dialogue - closed session: Governments from South Asia preparing a #Nitrogen4NetZero proposal. Discussion of options how to bring #Nitrogen4NetZero to the COP26 agenda.

Subsequent #Nitrogen4NetZero virtual events are planned, which will build on the discussions and outcomes from the “Nitrogen for Climate and Green Recovery” event.
These further e-meetings will take place between June and November 2021 in collaboration with South Asia, UK and global partners (details to be confirmed).
