The present decree tends to regulate the conservation, the protection, the plantation and the management of the wood. It applies to both public and private woods. The text is made up of 113 articles divided into 11 chapters, the most important of which are: Forestry functions (II). This chapter is divided into sections as follows: The economic function (I); The social and educational function (II); Protective function (III); Ecological function (IV); The scientific function and the forest reserves (V). Chapter 3 deals with forest administration regulations. The Flemish Higher Council of Wood (IV); Wood management (V); Special provisions relating to public wood (VII).
