The ‘Towards INMS’ project, which was first launched at the 6th INI Conference in Melbourne (December 2016), is pleased to announce that it is now moving into its operational phase. The ‘Towards INMS’ Component, Activity and Task leaders are developing their Year 1 Workplans in collaboration with the Project Management Board (PMB) and the Project Co-ordination Unit (PCU). They are also reaching out to partners who pledged co-finance against their Activity and other individuals and organisations which have indicated their interest in getting involved.
The Executing Agency (based at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, on behalf of INI) is currently formulating and negotiating subcontracts with partners who will be directly engaged in the work. They are also currently in the midst of a re-engagement phase, during which the PCU will individually make contact with all 70+ partners on their committed co-finance and their interests in the project as it moves forward. It is anticipated that this phase will take 4-6 weeks.
